What makes MOGSki different
Most winter footwear is built around one idea: warm but heavy, elegant but impractical, or luxurious but mass-produced and interchangeable. MOGSki is built around material character.
One of a kind by nature
We work with natural hides and fur, and we do not treat variation as a flaw to be corrected. No two hides are alike, so no two MOGSki pieces are alike. Each one carries its own markings, tone shifts and texture, and that is the point rather than the compromise.
The sheepskin, shearling and cowhide we use come from animals raised as part of Inner Mongolia's pastoral food economy. Our fur pieces, including mink, fox, raccoon dog and rabbit, come through a different supply chain that we are still documenting, and we make no sourcing claim about them until that work is complete. Made where winter is ordinary
MOGSki is shaped by craft from Inner Mongolia, where winter is not a seasonal mood but the condition most of the year is organized around. That shows up in practical decisions: how the hide is cut, how the lining sits, how the piece is expected to be worn and repaired rather than replaced.
Natural materials, honestly described
We choose natural materials for how they feel and how they age. The hide and the wool are natural. The finished piece also contains a rubber outsole, adhesives, thread and hardware, so we do not describe the whole product as natural.
Small batch
Pieces are made in runs of a few dozen at a time, sized by the hides available. A style that sells out is not always repeated, and some pieces are made once.
