Arctic White Mink — Mid-Calf Snow Boot

A mid-calf boot in white mink fur, hand-embroidered at the cuff and made in Inner Mongolia.

Product Description

The upper is mink fur, left undyed, so the tone and the lie of the pile are the animal's own. Mink carries a dense underfur beneath longer guard hairs, and that is what gives the surface its depth and the way it catches light as you move.

The cuff is embroidered by hand, one boot at a time. The motifs come out of Evenki and Mongolian needlework, and the woman who stitches a pair signs it in the way embroiderers always have — by the particular tension and spacing of her own hand.

Made for the cold months, for evenings, and for the kind of winter dressing that has somewhere to be.
